Getting started
Sky gives you two things:
- A storefront — the public website your customers search and book on.
- An admin panel — where you configure that storefront, price your products, and run the business behind it.
They are two views of the same platform. Almost everything you change in the panel shows up on the storefront, usually straight away. This guide explains what each part does, why it exists, and how the pieces affect each other.
Who this guide is for
You, if you run a store on Sky — the owner, or anyone on your team with access to the panel. It assumes no technical background. Where a screen behaves differently depending on someone's access, the page says so.
The shape of the product
You set things up in the panel. Customers search, book and pay on the storefront. Every booking and every payment comes back into the panel as an order, a receipt and a transaction.
The four questions to answer first
Before any of the detail, four decisions shape everything else.
| Question | Where you answer it | What it decides |
|---|---|---|
| What do I sell? | Seller Information | Which products appear on your storefront, and in what order |
| How do customers pay me? | Payment gateways | Whether checkout works at all |
| What do I earn? | Markups | Your margin on every booking |
| Who on my team can do what? | Roles | What each staff member sees in the panel |
Everything else builds on those.
How the panel is organised
The sidebar groups screens by the job they do. You only see a group if you have access to at least one screen inside it.
| Group | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Users & Access | See who has registered and give staff a role |
| Orders | Look up any booking a customer made, and its money trail |
| Payments | Connect a gateway, send payment links, track incoming money |
| Content | Write your pages, menus, FAQs, home pages and your own tours |
| Visa | Sell visa services and process applications |
| Pricing | Set the margin you add to each product type |
| Marketing | Promote routes and destinations, moderate reviews |
| Customer Club | Run points, tiers and a coupon catalogue, and fund it from a marketing wallet |
| Financial | Your wallet, transfers, withdrawals and transaction history |
| Settings | Your store details, branding, languages, currencies and product options |
Four things sit outside the groups:
- My Account at the top of the sidebar — your own profile, bank details and personal wallet.
- The wallet balance in the header on wider screens — your platform's USD balance. It is a shortcut to Wallet, and it matters more than it looks: see How money moves.
- Page search in the header — type a screen name to jump straight to it, or press
Ctrl+K(Cmd+Kon a Mac). It remembers where you have been recently, and is usually faster than hunting through the sidebar. - Help above every screen — opens the page of this guide for the screen you are on, in a new tab. A screen reached from inside another, such as the schedules of one tour, opens the page of the screen it belongs to. The page opens in English; switch language from the language menu at the top of the guide.
Opening /admin takes you to My Account, not to a summary screen. The panel has no dashboard page — you go to the area you need.
Where to go next
If you are setting up for the first time, follow the launch checklist. It walks through the setup in dependency order, so you do not have to backtrack.
If you want to understand the platform as a whole, read How the platform works. It explains the system — services, money, pricing, order states, access — rather than individual screens.
If you have a specific job to do, the Guides cover the common ones end to end: taking a booking, getting paid, pricing your products, building your storefront, running a customer club.
If you are looking at a screen right now and want to know what a field does, the Panel reference has a page for every screen in the panel. Its addresses mirror the panel exactly: if you are on /admin/loyalty-tiers, the page for it is at /admin/loyalty-tiers here.
