Glossary

The words the platform uses, in the sense it uses them.

Access

One individual permission — viewing the coupon list, deleting a role. Accesses are bundled into roles and never given to a person directly, with one exception: Wallet transfer access, switched on per person in Users.

Booking option

A variant of an activity that a customer can choose — a time slot, a ticket type. Activity markups can be scoped to specific booking options.

Booking question

An extra question asked once per tour order, such as a pickup point. Distinct from a passenger question, which is asked for every traveller. Both are defined on a tour's schedule plan.

Commission

A percentage per passenger type, scoped by route and airline. Commissions exist only on a controlled-markup platform, where they apply to scheduled flights; charter flights there still take flight markups. Elsewhere you set markups instead.

Controlled markup

A platform mode in which your flight margins are split: scheduled flights are not marked up and earn through commissions instead, while charter flights still take flight markups. If your Pricing group contains Commissions, you are on one.

Coupon

A personal code a customer holds after buying it from your coupon catalogue with points: a percentage or fixed discount used at checkout, or a wallet top-up added to their wallet. Its value is paid from your marketing wallet when it is used. See Issued Coupons.

Coupon catalogue

The coupons members can buy with their points, each priced in points. Each purchase mints a new personal coupon from the entry; editing the entry does not change coupons already bought. See Coupon Catalogue.

Dedicated gateway

A payment gateway running on your own merchant account. You enter its credentials, and the balance in the gateway's currency must cover each payment plus its fee, or it is hidden at checkout: your platform wallet for a USD gateway, your platform's rial balance for an IRR one.

Departure

Informal name for a schedule time — one dated, capacity-limited running of a tour.

Earning rule

How many loyalty points an action pays: a purchase, signing up, inviting a friend, joining with a friend's code, or an approved tour review. Purchase points are counted per booking or per unit of currency spent. An action with no active rule pays nothing. See Earning Rules.

Home page block

A section of one of your service landing pages, which you can reorder, hide and rewrite in Home pages.

Last-minute discount

An automatic percentage off tour departures leaving within a chosen window, optionally only once a set number of seats or fewer are left. Set on a schedule plan.

Lifetime points

The total points a customer has ever earned. Only ever grows — spending, expiry and clawbacks do not reduce it. Tiers are calculated from it, so a member is never demoted.

Marketing wallet

The budget your customer club coupons are paid from: a dollar wallet for USD coupons, which you charge from your platform wallet, and a rial wallet for any other coupon, which the panel does not show. Money in it cannot be withdrawn. When it runs short, customers cannot use their coupons. See Marketing Wallet.

Markup

The margin you add on top of supplier cost for products you resell — flights, hotels, activities. Percentage or fixed amount, scoped as narrowly as you like. The most specific markup wins, and markups never stack. See How pricing works.

Order

A customer booking. Each product type has its own order list. See Order statuses.

Owner

The account that owns the store, labelled Owner in the panel header. It is a label, not a bypass: what the owner can open still comes from its role. See Who can do what.

Passenger question

An extra question asked for every traveller on a tour booking, such as a dietary requirement. See booking question.

Payer field

A piece of information a payment link requires before payment — name, email, phone, passport number and so on.

Payment gateway

The provider that takes a customer's money. Either shared (the platform's merchant account) or dedicated (yours). Granted by your platform operator; you cannot add one. See Payment Gateways.

A payable address you create and send, for money outside a normal booking. Three kinds: fixed amount, payer-defined, and custom plans. See Payment Links.

Payment order

A payment made against one of your payment links. Listed under Incoming Payments.

Platform

Your store on Sky — storefront and admin panel together. What the panel calls platform settings are settings for your own store.

Platform wallet

Your business balance in USD, shown in the panel header. It backs USD dedicated gateways, charges your dollar marketing wallet, receives your profit on settled orders and your payment-link payments, and is what you withdraw from. Money in rials, from rial-settled orders, IRR payment links and IRR gateways, moves through a separate rial balance the panel does not show. See Wallet.

PNR

The airline's booking reference on a flight order.

Receipt

The money record attached to an order — line items, counts, prices, discounts — typed Buy or Sell. Not a balance. See Receipts.

Role

A named bundle of accesses assigned to a staff member. One role per person. See Roles.

Schedule plan

A priced package for a tour — adult and child prices, included services, booking questions, payment method, last-minute rule. One tour can have several. See Sell your own tours.

Schedule time

One dated running of a schedule plan: start and end dates and times, capacity, and optional price overrides. Also called a departure.

Seller

You — the business operating a store on the platform. Where the panel says seller share or seller markup, it means your side of a split.

Service

A product type your storefront can offer: domestic flight, flight, hotel, dynamic tour, static tour, activity, visa. Granted by your platform operator, then switched on by you in Seller Information. See What you can sell.

Shared gateway

A payment gateway running on the platform's own merchant account. Nothing to configure and no wallet balance required.

Slug

The short, URL-friendly identifier of a page or a tour, shared across languages. On a custom page it is lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens; on a tour it is the tour code.

Specificity

The rule that decides which of several overlapping markups applies: the one with the most detail wins, and only one applies. For activities: generic, country, city, category, product.

Storefront

The public website your customers browse and book on — the other half of the platform.

Supplier

Whoever provides the inventory behind a booking: an airline, a hotel chain, an activity provider. On order details, supplier share and supplier markup are their side of a split.

Tier

A loyalty level reached at a lifetime points threshold, carrying an earning multiplier and perks. See Tiers.

Tour service

A reusable inclusion — airport transfer, breakfast, guide — attached to a tour's schedule plans.

Tracking code

The reference on a wallet transaction, and the way to search for a specific money movement.

Transaction

A movement in your platform wallet — a deposit or a withdrawal, with a status of Pending, Verified or Cancelled. Not the same as a receipt. See Transactions.

Travel type

The product category a rule applies to. Used to scope catalogue coupons and purchase earning rules, whose forms offer Domestic flight, International flight, Hotel, Dynamic tour, Static tour and Activity. On a platform whose currency is USD, Domestic flight and Dynamic tour are not offered.

Variant

An alternative layout for part of your storefront — header, footer, homepage, tour list or tour page. Changes structure, not content. See Layout Variants.

Visa service

A destination country you sell visas for, containing one or more visa types. See Visa Services.

Visa type

A specific visa product within a visa service — title, duration, prices per age group, origin restrictions, issuance time, required documents.

Voucher

The document a customer receives for a confirmed hotel or activity booking. The flight equivalent is a ticket.

Wallet

Depending on where you are:

  • Platform wallet — your business balance, in USD
  • Customer wallet — a customer's own credit on your storefront, where money lands if a booking fails after payment, and where a coupon's value lands when they use it
  • Marketing wallet — the budget your customer club coupons are paid from
  • Personal wallet — the balance on your own user account, under My Account
