Languages and currencies

Selling across borders means two separate decisions: which languages your storefront speaks, and which currencies you put in front of visitors.

Languages

Platform Languages is where you choose the languages your storefront offers. At least one must stay enabled.

Available languages:

EnglishPersianArabic
GermanSpanishTurkish
RussianHindiKorean
GeorgianItalian

The panel lists each one in its own script, such as Deutsch or 한국어. Italian can be ticked, but the storefront does not offer it.

Enabling a language does two things at once:

  1. Visitors can switch your storefront into it.
  2. Every screen in the panel that has a Translations section gains a slot for it.
Enabling a language does not translate your content

The platform's own wording is translated for you. Your wording is not. Enable a language and, until you write them, your store information, custom pages, menu titles, FAQs and popular cards show in another language, and your tours stay in the one display language each was written in.

Which language and currency a visitor gets

Defaults & Detection sets a default language and a default currency, and two switches that let the storefront follow each visitor's location instead. For each of the two, the storefront uses the first of these that applies:

  1. The visitor's own earlier choice, if you still offer it
  2. Their location, if detection is on and you offer what it finds
  3. Your default

Your defaults must always be among what you offer, so enable a language or currency before making it the default, and choose another default before switching the current one off.

Content Pages shows a X of Y languages filled counter, and Mobile App Settings and Free Consultation show X of Y languages configured. They are the fastest way to find gaps.

What fills an empty language

Content Pages — refund policy, terms of service, privacy policy — fall back to built-in default text when you leave a language empty. Clearing a language removes your saved version and returns it to that default. Store information, custom pages, menu titles, FAQs and popular cards fall back to another language you wrote. That second kind of fallback is not a translation: the visitor reads your text in a language they did not choose.

Right-to-left languages

Persian and Arabic read right to left. The panel and the storefront both flip layout automatically when one of them is selected — including anything where you chose a side, such as which side a home-page block's image sits on. Before the text means left on a left-to-right page and right on a right-to-left one.

Currencies

Platform Currencies is where you choose which currencies visitors can see prices in. At least one must stay enabled, and your default currency cannot be switched off.

Suggested Currencies lets you highlight up to 8 currencies. Drag to reorder; the order is their display priority.

These are the currencies you are putting forward — the ones a visitor sees first in the currency switcher. Put the currencies your actual customers hold at the top. A suggested currency you did not enable is not shown.

Currency also appears in several other places, where it means something more specific:

WhereWhat it means
Club SettingsThe currency your coupon catalogue is priced in
Coupon CatalogueThe currency of a catalogue coupon's amounts
A tour schedule planThe currency that departure is priced in
Payment LinksThe currency the payer is charged in
Wallet and withdrawalsAlways USD
Your platform wallet is always in USD

Balances, transfers and withdrawals are denominated in USD regardless of which currencies your storefront displays.

A sensible order of work

Enabling a language you cannot write leaves a half-translated storefront in front of real customers. Enable one at a time and finish it.
