Tiers
Tiers sort your members into bands — Silver, Gold, whatever you name them — and give the higher bands a better earning rate and a list of perks. A coupon in your Coupon Catalogue can also be kept for members at a tier or above.

Tiers are earned from lifetime points
This is the rule that makes tiers safe to offer:
A member who earns 5,000 points and spends every one of them is still Gold. That is what stops your best customers hoarding points they are afraid to use.
Adding a tier
Add tier opens the form.
| Field | Accepts | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Required, up to 60 characters, different from your other tiers | Silver. The form lets you type up to 100 characters, but a name longer than 60 is refused when you save |
| Lifetime points to reach it | Whole number, 0–100,000,000 | Members enter the tier when lifetime points reach this |
| Earning multiplier | 1–10, one decimal | Points earned are multiplied by this |
| Colour | Required. Hex, e.g. #C0C0C0 | Used for the tier badge in the panel, on the programme page and on the member's My Points page |
| Display order | Optional whole number | Saved with the tier, but the panel list and the programme page both order tiers by their lifetime-points threshold |
| Status | Active / Inactive | Inactive tiers are not assigned and do not appear on the programme page |
| Perks | One per line, up to 20 | Shown on the programme page, 255 characters each |
The multiplier
The multiplier applies to points earned from Purchase rules in Earning Rules. A purchase rule paying 2 points per unit pays 3 to a member on a ×1.5 tier. Every other action pays exactly the number on its rule, whatever the member's tier. The result is rounded down. Points you credit by hand in Members are not multiplied.
Multipliers raise what the club costs you, so keep them modest. ×1.2 to ×2 across your whole ladder is a normal range; ×10 exists as a limit, not a suggestion.
Perks
One perk per line, up to 20 lines:
Priority support
Free cancellation
Early access to new tours
Perks are display only. Writing "Free cancellation" here does not change any cancellation rule — you and your team have to honour it manually. Only promise what you can deliver.
Designing the ladder
A workable three-tier ladder:
| Tier | Lifetime points | Multiplier | Colour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | 0 | ×1.0 | #C0C0C0 |
| Gold | 5000 | ×1.5 | #FFD700 |
| Platinum | 20000 | ×2.0 | #E5E4E2 |
Two things to get right:
- Start the bottom tier at 0 so every member has a tier from their first purchase. Otherwise new members show No tier and the ladder looks broken.
- Set the thresholds from your actual order values. Work out what a typical customer earns per booking from your earning rules, then set the second tier at roughly three to five bookings' worth. Thresholds nobody reaches are worse than no tiers at all.
Editing and deleting
A member's tier is worked out again only when points are earned or spent for them through the club: a booking, an approved review, another action that pays points, a coupon bought from the catalogue, a cancelled order, or a manual adjustment in Members. Creating, editing or deleting a tier does not move anyone on its own, and neither does an expiry.
- Add or edit a tier, and existing members stay where they were until their next earning or spend. That includes members who already had points before you created your first tier: they show No tier until then.
- Delete a tier, and its members show No tier until their next earning or spend, when they land in the highest active tier their lifetime points reach. The panel's delete message says they fall back to the next lower tier; that is where they end up, but only at that point.
The Lowest tier allowed on a catalogue coupon is not affected by this delay: it checks the member's lifetime points against the tier's threshold when they buy.
Troubleshooting
A member shows No tier. Either no active tier has a threshold at or below their lifetime points, which usually means the lowest tier does not start at 0, or their tier was created or deleted after their last earning or spend. It corrects itself the next time they earn or spend points.
A member did not move up after a big booking. Tiers resolve from lifetime points — confirm the booking actually awarded points on the Members screen. An action with no active rule awards nothing.
Multiplier rejected. Between 1 and 10, at most one decimal. 1.55 is refused; 1.5 is fine.
